Professional snapshot
I'm Elia Walles, a software engineer and machine intelligence specialist from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I graduated from the University of Dodoma in 2025 with a BSc in Information Systems, and since then I've been building systems that actually work in the East African context: offline-first, mobile-money-enabled, and designed for real users, not ideal ones.
I currently serve as CTO at AfyaLead, Software Developer and Product Manager at Ubuntu AfyaLink, and take on independent client projects in parallel. My work spans health-tech, fintech, AI systems, and enterprise software, across web, mobile, and desktop.
I'm also building Uhasibu Digito, a comprehensive AI-powered accounting and compliance platform designed specifically for Tanzanian SMEs and startups that can't afford in-house finance teams.
